The Power of Visualization

humanmindSo I have been remiss in updating this for a few days with some time sucking projects at my day job.  During this time I have been giving my fledgling business much thought.  As I sat ruminating on how to keep plugging away at growing this business I realized 2 things.  Those are that in order to succeed you need to do 2 things: visualize yourself as a success and then stop thinking and ACT!

Visualization:

I am a firm believer in the power of the mind to impact the actions of the body.  It goes back to the old saying of you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.  That is somewhat cliche but it has truth to it.  However, it works both ways.  You can picture yourself a millionaire or skinny of whatever it is you want to be and your subconscious will begin to push you in that direction.  For instance, as I have trained my mind to think with the goal of running my own business within 4 years I am naturally beginning to take the steps to do just that.  Not with a ton of conscious thought but rather it is an  organic process that is taking place because I set my mind in motion.

I did say though that it works both ways.  You can also expend energy with negative thought.  Perhaps you keep thinking that you are fat, or that you are not successful, well then you will be just those things.  They key is to be unswayed.  So all your campaigns are losing money.  So what.  Everybody has that at some point.  Maybe you feel like you are clueless on how to do this affiliate marketing thing.  Guess what?  So is everyone when they start.

I can safely say I have had my share of total and utter failures.  I mean blow up in your face, ceiling caving in on you sort of f ups.  I am not swayed period.  Oh I may indulge in some self-pity for an hour or so but then its f you world and back at it again.  As a budding entrepreneur, you have to be OK with failure.  Ask anyone who is successful about how many times they have failed.  I will bet hard money its a big number.  The old tech saying is “if you’re going to fail, fail fast”.  In other words you have to keep at it until you start making progress.

So that brings me to visualization.  Now I am not talking some new age crap lighting candles and chanting ohms all day.  That’s all well and good but that is not what I am talking about.  I am talking about real goals, real desires you have that you want like hell to achieve.  Then you need an image to with that.   If your goal is to get rich then maybe its your dream house or car.  If you want to lose weight, maybe its you as a thin person.  Whatever it is get that image and burn it into your mind.  Maybe there is a picture of what you want.  Printing it out and tack it up on your wall.  Whatever it takes.  Hell, I’ll tell you mine.  I want to be rich and working for myself.  So my image is me in my home office watching my daughter play in our backyard on a Monday in the middle of the day.  That’s it.

ACT!

So the next thing is really simple.  Quit f’ing thinking about succeeding and changing you life and go do it already.  So many people get paralyzed by thinking about how to achieve some goal that they never act on it.  Bottom line: get off your ass and start moving toward your goal.

Believe me I am not different.  I have been expending a ton of energy around making this dream a reality that I had done nothing.  However, everything is different now.  I have that image tattooed in my head and ever since I have shut off my conscious mind on this and begun just acting.  So moral of the story is figure out what you want, focus on it, then go and f’ing do it.  EOS
